Thank You Ma
This is a story pastor told us on mother's day, May 10, 2009. There was once a child who lived only with his mother since his father died when he was young. He was a child of many talents and he was sent to a good school by his hardworking mother. They were poor and the child only had his mother to support him. His mother would clean the house, do laundry for neighbors, baby-sit, work as a maid. All these she did just so her son could go to a good school. Finally, it was time for her son's graduation. He asked his mother to attend his graduation. He's mother refused and said that she didn't have good clothes to wear to the graduation. Her clothes were all tattered from the work. She didn't want to embarrass the kid in front of his friends. The son insisted that she attend the graduation. He told her it was his day and he wanted her to be there, so mother agreed to attend the graduation. When they got there, the son told her to sit with the other parents. The mom looked and they all seemed like important and rich people. She told her son that she'll just stay at the back and look at him from there. This time the child allowed her. In the ceremony, the child's name was called. The son went up and accepted his award for valedictorian of the class. The mother was so shocked and proud and it brought tears to her eyes. When the child went up and accepted the medal, he immediately went down and handed his medal to his mom and simply said, |
